THE SECRET PLACE

Dear T.R.I.B.E. Friends,

So…a few weeks ago I realized I needed to take a break. Anybody relate? I have been super productive during these first 8 months of this most challenging of years, but I was becoming overloaded, saturated, exhausted…for real.

I took 4 excellent in- depth classes over an 8 month period, worked with some coaching clients, painted and wrote and went into some serious curating of my wardrobe…which is the most fun for me:), participated in a book group, and worked with a genius to clarify my business model.

And then one day, I just had to stop. You probably know the story of the seeker who pursued a wise teacher to the top of a Himalayan mountain and when they finally got a meeting with the wise one, the lesson was conveyed with few words.

The wise one began pouring tea into the seeker’s cup until it was overflowing onto the table and floor and pointed out that this was the state of the seeker’s inner life.
Too full.
Too much input.
Not enough assimilation or integration.
No more room to take in.

What I want to share with you is this: We Are One.
And since this is and has been my message for as long as I have had one…I’m sticking to it.
My parents were divorced…a couple of times. I lived through (barely) custody suits and acrimony and many years of trying to emotionally support my own gifts.

And as a child who loved all concerned, I became a great codependent, but later hopefully more of a communication facilitator…and a peace maker…and an investigator, and a problem solver. But this kind of work calls for shaking things up. And my tools for the journey have to be strong enough to handle my call.

I have always felt that if we could find that place where we are one…and talk from there…a lot would be solved. So I have spent a lifetime trying  to get to the bottom of the mysteries about why people hurt one another. That example is personal …but it also extends beyond the personal. It's about power and women’s and children's rights and so much more. In a Patriarchy, women and children do not yet own our own bodies, or our voices or our choices.

And it is time for this to end.

And then there is systemic inequity. …and that defeats all of us…except the 1%.  It sets us up against one another while the cash flow of the power elite remains uninterrupted.

Systemic inequity is present in religion and government and corporate structures and halls of “higher” learning where elitist teachings perpetuate systems that exclude and injure. Systemic hierarchy is about Power, and money…and it is being challenged on the streets, and at the ballot box...thank God.

But the SUPERPOWER we each possess is inside of us. Accessing it takes learning and listening and shedding and atoning. But it is where I am sure the solutions reside.

We Are One.

Psalm 91 calls that place of Oneness “the secret place of the most high”.
And in that place...lies the opening.

Keep the faith.
We are going to make it.

Hope you give yourself some rest time too. Some emptying out and assimilation time. So looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year. You...are...awesome.

With love and appreciation,
Across the quantum field,

Jane
